In front of me in my physics class there sat two boys at my age. Both were helping each other to take seats, drawing benches back and forth. The next moment the class began.
None of the two of them was listening to the teacher. So I had to give a pat to one of them, so as to make them concentrate on what was being taught. The names of the boys were unknown to me. So I name the tall guy as Ronald and the other one as…er…er… Sam.
Now you may remember, I gave one of them a pat and changed their focus. A few minutes later they came back to their own new chat. This time I did not do anything because there could have been something really important to talk and the other reason is that I have done the same thing so many times before! During my work, I did pay attention on them.
Ronald looked much fair in complexion than the other and also, he appeared a little bit smarter than Sam and had a well-built figure. Sam looked good as well but not as much as his friend. [No offense] This Sam guy was shorter than his friend too. As I beheld, two of them seemed like really close friends. None of the bystanders were their known pal. (Because two of them kept chatting only with each other all the time)
They were talking something clandestine pretending as if they were working really hard. Well…hardly they did but it was getting wane gradually. My friend Saranga who was sitting next to me did not know that I had become a spy! Because I also pretended as if I was working so hard too, nearly like a double agent! My mate was struggling with numbers, while I kept examining those two best friends…Ronald and Sam!
I saw them smiling, laughing, giving fives, embracing, and even bugging…which evoked the memories of the last few months of mine at school with those who I consider as true friends before I faced GCE O\Level exam.
Suddenly about one and half hour later, Sam, the short guy gave the other guy a palm full of slap which almost can not be called a slap, even. I wasn’t clear about that because I hardly saw it. Not knowing the exact reason for that, I just thought…
There can be so many reasons for such a sudden change
1. He cracked a joke
2. For retaliation
3. Quick temper.
What so ever the reason was, a deceitful slap is not a nice way even to revenge…not for an enemy at least!
Sam was kind of like knocked out at what he did. He was like “God, what the HECK did I do?” Because of the crucial slap he got from his so-called friend, Ronald became red and lowered and hid his face with his left hand, as if to cover it from the other guy, feeling ashamed of…his friend! But he never thought of revenge. That’s a really great quality.
Now just think, what would he do if someone not known to him gave the slap? Someone like you or me since he doesn’t consider any one of us as a friend. He surely would do something to gain defense, right? But this time he didn’t do anything…why?
Sam, who was Ronald’s best friend, kept saying awkwardly “I’m sorry……” all the time until the class ended up. But hence forth, I didn’t know of what happened to them. May be Ronald said “Never mind” or some thing. Please comment, what you would do if you were Ronald. Would you let you friendship die or let it rise back?
Via this true story I just wanted to convey the message – make a best friend for you if you still don’t have. Don’t make your soul to lack such an enchanting requirement. When you get to have one or more, I assure you that you surely will feel like you have everything even though you have no penny in your pocket. You will feel you are not alone. And also make sure that the one you will choose is not an Artful Dodger like for Oliver Twist. I’m telling you all this because I have become lucky to get that feel in this life of mine. If you have any problem with your fiancĂ© or your mate, instead of driving up the wall, try refilling him or her with tendency. The more you incline, the more you deserve love, affection and respect! Try it for my word!
Thanks.
